2010 September

From the monthly archives:

September 2010

tenmoregirls are proud to announce that they have exhibit some of their works made for girls around the world at International Jewellery Fair in Sydney.

This amazing opportunity was only possible due to our kind sponsors Peekays Findings who kindly donated us some of their jewellery findings. The project was to create contemporary piece of jewellery using Peekays findings, corresponding the theme of girls around the world exhibition. This range of jewellery was then exhibited at Peekays Findings stand during the International Jewellery Fair in Sydney 2010.

I would like to say thank you to those who made it to our artist talks on Saturday. It is always little nerve-racking to stand up in front of an audience and talk about our work and concepts. Yet you made it very natural and comfortable for us.

Here are a few photos from the day. See if you can find one with you.

I would like to thank you all for coming to opening of another exhibition by tenmoregirls, girls around the world. It was again very overwhelming to see you there and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we did.

Here are some photos from opening night. See if you are in one of them…..

Finally all the work for an exhibition, girls around the world by tenmoregirls is finished! That includes all promotion, grants applications, sponsorship and gallery installation. This year we are exhibiting at relocated Gaffa Gallery. The new space looks amazing and this is how our installation day went.

Come and check out the exhibition, it looks awesome!

“I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a
world so small that my mind could comprehend it.”

– Harry Emerson Fosdick

The tenmorgirls collective is an internationally faceted group of female artists who
believe that they can make the world go round by creating beautiful & unique jewellery &

For the third year in a row they are uniting to hold an annual exhibition of contemporary
wearable art. The collective consists of ten female designers and makers who met while
studying at the Design Centre Enmore and who are committed to exhibiting every year to
promote and nurture the medium in their local community and beyond.
Having steadily built a buzz around their work in their previous shows, Girls for Boys 2008
and Girls Against Gold 2009, the girls continue to explore contemporary themes and are
exhibiting Girls Around the World at the recently relocated Gaffa Gallery in its
stunning new home, a heritage listed 3 story building on 281 Clarence Street in the CBD.
This years’ theme Girls Around the World reflects the group’s interest in diverse
cultures, their love of travel and issues such as globalization, international politics, the
environment & human rights. Their stories, expressed through wearable artworks will be
fabricated from contemporary and traditional materials and promise to challenge
perceptions and capture the imagination.

The Ten More Girls collective consists of the following participants:
