There were fairly a few coincidences towards the end of 2014 that lead me and my partner to move for 6 months to Indonesia (“base camp” in Bali). Place that is very different to what we know. Place that guarantee lifestyle change, cultural challenges and water sports paradise.
I am taking this experience as an opportunity to explore foreign culture and unfamiliar arts, but also to reflect, relax and recharge. I am hoping to come back to Australia with sketch book full of developed ideas, some finished work, new business plan and full of energy to utilize this experience.
My plan is to learn what I can while I am here. I am particularly interested in traditional Balinese wood carving and batik which I am planning to document and share with you in regular blog posts. It will be hard to focus as the surf here is good……..and it is very hot and humid…….so we will see how I go!
