I am pleased to announce that I have returned back to school!!!
Full of excitement I have finally started my first semester at UTS. Master of Design, object and accessories studio with Berto Pandolfo is what I am going to be mostly updating you on for next year and half.
For the first semester you can be expecting to see design process and development of small batch production responding to theme LAYER. I will be updating you every week so you can be part of this exciting journey from begging till the end with me.
layer – week #1
Starting with initial research …… what actually is layer?
According to The Free Dictionary by Farlex layer is: “A single thickness of a material covering a surface or forming an overlying part or segment: a layer of dust on the windowsill; a cake with four layers.” [i]
Well explained yet not very inspiring. Fortunately, where ever I look I see layers. For example, stack of papers, puff pastry, most of the cakes, layers of fresh snow in Perisher, layers of clothing I put on every morning, layers of sediment, layers of atmosphere, lasagne, blinds, our skin, layers of fat, leafs fallen from tree, coconut and more! We are simply surrounded by layers.
